The Adams Rite 4510 is a standard duty deadlatch for narrow stile aluminum doors. A key, or a handle or paddle, retracts the spring-loaded latchbolt, and the all-metal auxiliary bolt deadlocks it against loiding or case-knife entry. To let traffic through both ways, push the bolt in and give the key a reverse turn to hold it retracted. Adams Rite says it fits any MS1850S deadlock prep of the same backset and faceplate shape without modifying the stile, but does not give the MS deadlock's level of security. Pair it with the Adams Rite 4560 lever handle inside. See all our commercial locksets.
Specifications
| Model | 4510-35 (LH or RHR) or 4510-36 (RH or LHR), with the 201 (4902) or 101 (4901) strike, clear anodized 628 or dark bronze anodized 313. Selected above |
| Faceplate and backset | Flat faceplate, 1 x 6-7/8 in. Backset 1-1/8 in |
| Strike | Mortised, for a flat standard jamb. Adams Rite's standard is the 4902 strike, 2-5/8 in, for a jamb where the door closes flush or nearly flush. The longer 4901, 4-5/8 in, covers the slot strike of an MS deadlock, for replacing a deadlock with this deadlatch |
| Latchbolt | Hardened steel internal pins, 1/2 x 1 in with 1/2 in throw. Adams Rite says the handing is reversible without special tools |
| Case | Steel with corrosion-resistant plating |
| Door | Narrow stile aluminum doors. Adams Rite does not recommend its deadlatches on doors thinner than 1-3/4 in |
| Cylinder | Not included. It takes a standard 1 in long, 1-5/32 in diameter mortise cylinder with an MS cam, such as Adams Rite's 4036, or a 4066 thumbturn, from either or both sides. Ask us to quote the cylinder |
| In the box | The deadlatch with its strike and mounting screws. Cylinder, paddle and handle are separate |
