The surface has to be clean, fully dry, and free of oil, dust, and loose coating before the liner comes off. Concrete that has been power washed needs to dry out completely, not just look dry. On painted, powder coated, lacquered, or stained surfaces, color and lot variation change how the adhesive behaves, so test a short piece on the actual surface before committing to a full run. Roll the tape down with firm pressure rather than hand pressure alone, and the bond keeps improving over the first day.
