The JL Industries Ambassador 1017F10 is a semi-recessed steel fire extinguisher cabinet for a 10 lb extinguisher, made in the USA. It is the full-view door version of JL's most widely stocked cabinet: a single 8-1/2 in x 22-3/4 in clear acrylic pane shows the whole extinguisher, so an inspector can read the gauge without opening anything. The tub recesses into the wall and the 3 in rolled trim returns to the wall face in a smooth curve, staying within the ADA 4 in projection limit. Continuous hinge opens 180 degrees, with a zinc-plated pull handle and roller catch. For a fire-resistance-rated wall you need the fire-rated 1017F10FX2 instead.

Extinguisher compatibility
JL rates this tub for Cosmic 2.5 to 10 lb and Galaxy 2.5 to 10 lb dry chemical, Mercury clean agent to 5 lb, and the 5 lb Sentinel CO2. Fit is set by the extinguisher's cylinder diameter against this cabinet's 6 in interior (tub) depth, not by weight; a standard 10 lb dry-chemical unit fits, while a wide-body "short" 10 lb or a 20 lb unit is too deep and needs a larger cabinet. Confirm the cylinder diameter on your extinguisher's cut sheet against the tub depth above. See our Fire Extinguisher Cabinet Selection Guide for the full fit matrix.
Placement and mounting height follow the NFPA 10 requirements.
Full view or vertical duo?
This cabinet and the 1017V10 are the same cabinet with a different door: the F10 is one full-view pane, the V10 splits the glazing into a vertical duo panel. Tub, trim, rough opening, and extinguisher compatibility are identical, so it comes down to appearance and what the drawing calls for. If a drawing names one door style, order that one; either drops into the same 11-1/2 in × 25 in opening.
