The JL Industries Ambassador 2017F10 is a semi-recessed steel fire extinguisher cabinet that accepts up to a 20 lb extinguisher, made in the USA. The tub recesses into the wall while the 2-1/2 in rolled trim projects from the wall face, so it fits walls too shallow for a fully-recessed cabinet while staying within the ADA 4 in projection limit. The full-view clear acrylic door has a continuous hinge that opens 180 degrees and a zinc-plated pull handle with roller catch.

Extinguisher compatibility
The manufacturer rates this tub for dry-chemical units up to 20 lb (the 20 lb unit mounts to the tub rather than the door), 5 to 10 lb cartridge units, and comparable clean-agent models. The deep 7-3/4 in tub is what clears the larger-diameter 20 lb cylinders that will not fit a 5-1/2 or 6 in cabinet. Confirm the cylinder diameter on your extinguisher's cut sheet against the tub depth above. See our Fire Extinguisher Cabinet Selection Guide for the full fit matrix.
Placement and mounting height follow the NFPA 10 requirements.
Model cross-reference
JL Industries builds this same 12 in × 27 in × 7-3/4 in tub in other Ambassador steel trims: 2014 (trimless), 2015 (flat), 2016 (square), 2012 (4 in rolled with flush pull), 2018 (4-1/2 in rolled), plus the surface-mount 2013. The semi-recessed models all share this cabinet's 13 in × 28 in wall opening and take the same extinguishers, so this cabinet fits the existing opening when you are replacing one of them. Trim projection, door style, and glazing vary by model, and an older spec sheet can list glazing codes that are no longer in the current book.
