The Cato ALC22012, previously catalogued as the 220-SB, is a secured surface mount cover for a manual fire alarm pull station. Where the standard pull-to-open cover lifts by hand, this one uses a grid-scored acrylic panel that has to be broken with the supplied break bar, so a casual pull will not reach the station. The body is vandal resistant and a side slot holds the break bar when it is not in use.

Where it fits

This is the version for locations with repeat malicious activations rather than accidental ones: schools, dormitories, correctional and behavioral-health facilities, and public transit areas. It raises the effort required to trip an alarm without hiding or obstructing the device. It does not change how the alarm system is designed, installed, or inspected.

Related options and parts

A recessed version of this secured cover is available (ALC22002, previously 220-RB), as is a standard pull-to-open cover in surface (ALC22011) and recessed (ALC22001). A gasket option is available on any of them, and replacement acrylic panels and break bars are stocked. Ask us for a model or part not listed here.

Placement

Pull station location, spacing, and inspection intervals are set by NFPA 72 and the local fire code. This cover is an accessory and is not a substitute for any requirement in that standard. Confirm the cover matches your pull station footprint before ordering.
