These lights carry intrinsically safe (UL 913) ratings for Class I and Class II Division 1 and 2 areas where flammable gases, vapors, or combustible dust may be present — the kind of environments covered under NFPA 70 hazardous location classifications.

Every flashlight and headlamp we carry is tested to ANSI/NEMA FL-1 performance standards for lumen output, beam distance, runtime, and impact resistance. From manufacturers like Pelican and Streamlight, these lights are approved for use in petrochemical facilities, refineries, grain elevators, paint booths, and mining operations where standard electrical equipment poses ignition risks.

Intrinsically safe models limit electrical energy to levels that cannot ignite surrounding atmospheres, meeting UL 913 requirements for Division 1 areas where ignitable concentrations exist under normal conditions. For workers entering tanks, vessels, or other OSHA 1910.146 permit-required confined spaces, a properly rated light is not optional — it is required PPE.
