Collection: Torque Tools

Torque wrenches, torque multipliers, and torque screwdrivers for work where fastener tension is specified, not guessed: structural bolting, flange work, heavy equipment, and aircraft maintenance. Everything here is made in the USA by Wright Tool of Barberton, Ohio and built to ASME B107-series hand tool standards.

Which torque tool covers the spec

Type Range here Best for
Torque screwdrivers 3 to 15 in lbs Instrumentation, panel work, and small fasteners with inch-pound specs
Click type torque wrenches 50 to 250 ft lbs Production work; a distinct break signals the set torque without watching a dial
Dial type torque wrenches 50 to 2,000 ft lbs QA and calibration-sensitive work where you read actual torque through the pull
Torque multipliers 750 to 3,200 ft lbs output Structural and flange bolting past what a wrench and cheater can safely deliver

Multipliers gear up your input torque (some models take an air motor for continuous drive), so a tech can hit four-digit specs without a six-foot bar. Pair a multiplier with impact-rated sockets sized for the output drive; standard chrome sockets are not rated for multiplier output. Torque tools also round out the big master sets for engine and structural bays.

How often should a torque wrench be recalibrated?

Wright recommends recalibration every six months or 5,000 uses, whichever comes first. High-cycle production use sits at the six-month end; occasional QA checks can run to the usage limit.

What is the warranty on torque tools?

Torque wrenches carry a one-year limited manufacturer warranty rather than the lifetime coverage on plain hand tools, because they are precision instruments with calibrated mechanisms. Details are on the Wright Tool brand page.

Click or dial: which type should I buy?

Click wrenches are faster for repeated production work at one setting. Dial wrenches show the actual torque through the whole pull, which QA procedures and some aerospace specs require. Many shops keep one of each per drive size.

When do I need a torque multiplier instead of a bigger wrench?

Once specs pass roughly 600 ft lbs, a multiplier is safer and more repeatable than a long-handle wrench. Reaction-style multipliers brace against the work, so the tech only supplies input torque.
