This Spilfyter boom creates a floating barrier that absorbs oil and hydrocarbons while repelling water. The 8-inch diameter boom stretches 10 feet long and soaks up 75 gallons of oil. White fish netting outer sleeve lets you see saturation levels and allows better oil penetration than solid fabric booms.
The open net design gives oil more surface area to contact the absorbent core. This boom floats on water to contain spills at marinas, loading docks, or anywhere fuel meets water. White color makes it easy to spot when the boom is saturated and needs replacing.
Works for diesel spills at boat ramps, hydraulic fluid leaks around waterfront equipment, or containing fuel sheens around docks. The boom forms a migration barrier while absorbing the spill. Different from sock-in-net style booms that Spilfyter also makes. See our hazmat spill kit selection guide for absorbent chemistry and EPA SPCC sizing.
