The Cato Island Chief 11051-P is an MRI safe, all-plastic surface-mounted fire extinguisher cabinet for a 10 lb extinguisher, made in the USA. It is MR Safe labeled as defined in ASTM F2503: the manufacturer states it is composed of materials that are electrically non-conductive, non-metallic, and non-magnetic, so it is safe to use in a magnetic resonance imaging environment. Instead of a metal breaker bar or hammer, a clear PETG hand-pull panel gives access to the extinguisher in an emergency, and an ABS hexagonal lock with two keys opens the cabinet for service. This cabinet ships fully assembled.

Extinguisher compatibility

Sized for 2.5 to 10 lb portable extinguishers. For use inside an MR suite, pair this cabinet with a non-magnetic extinguisher — a standard steel-cylinder unit is not MR safe even inside an MR Safe cabinet. Confirm the cylinder diameter on your extinguisher's cut sheet against the tub dimensions above. See our Fire Extinguisher Cabinet Selection Guide for the full fit matrix.

Placement and mounting height follow the NFPA 10 requirements.
