An exit device is the push bar on the inside of a door. This is the trim, the hardware on the outside face of that same door. It mounts through the door and works the device's latch, so it is what decides whether anyone can get back in.
What this one does
Dummy pull. Anyone can pull the door open from outside. No lock.
Detex uses the BHMA function descriptions, and prints this one as: Entrance by trim when actuating bar is locked down (dummy trim).

Fitting it
Detex designs the trim and the device mounting plate so the function can be changed by swapping the outside trim alone, without taking the exit device off the door. Confirm the device series and the door's handing before ordering.
Panic hardware requirements: IBC panic hardware. Grade testing basis: ANSI/BHMA A156.3.
