The V40W71136 is a weatherized rim exit device designed for exterior doors and gates exposed to weather conditions. This Detex Grade 1 panic hardware installs on single doors, and on double doors with a mullion, where building codes require panic activation for occupant egress. On a pair of doors, a rim device latches into the frame stop, so the opening needs a mullion between the leaves. Without one, a rim device on each leaf has nothing to latch into. Confirm the opening before ordering. It is the answer to an exterior opening that has to stay locked from outside and open freely from inside.
Built with a stainless steel deadlocking Pullman latchbolt and heavy-duty ribbed aluminum rail, this exit device withstands over 1400 pounds of static pull force. The patented mounting plate and strike locator system eliminates paper templates and reduces installation time. The modular design accepts various outside trims and functions while requiring minimal door preparation.
