Where this color is used

Completed items. Inventory and production areas holding finished goods, keeping outbound stock visually separate from raw material and work in progress.

That assignment comes from Jessup's own Industrial Marking System, the colour scheme this tape is sold against. It is a voluntary 5S convention, not a regulation. OSHA names only two colors, in 29 CFR 1910.144: red for fire protection equipment and apparatus, and yellow for caution and for marking physical hazards such as striking against, stumbling, falling, tripping and caught in between. The rule assigns a meaning to those colors, not a floor zone, and it says nothing about the rest of a scheme.

Marking the aisles themselves is required. 29 CFR 1910.176(a) says permanent aisles and passageways have to be appropriately marked, and OSHA has confirmed the lines may be any color so long as they clearly define the aisle. The color is your choice; the marking is not.

ANSI Z535.1 is often cited for floor marking, and it is worth knowing what it actually does. It specifies the safety colors themselves in Munsell and CIE terms so they can be reproduced consistently. Its 2002 revision deleted the guidance on where to apply them, so it is not the source of any floor scheme.
